Christian Cortez
As of June 2022, I will be completing my Bachelors Degree in Music Education from the University of Texas at San Antonio with an emphasis in choral and guitar in December 2022.
I am from San Antonio Texas but my family is from Mexico. My family heritage comes from various musicians that have become music educators and performers. Much of my family in Mexico are all related to music as many of them are involved with music such as bands, and instructors. Even here in San Antonio, I have many family members who are musicians.
I am a first generation to attend university as my parents made the brave choice of leaving school early growing up in a working class family. These wonderful people have always instilled in me, "You sometimes have to work harder than the rest to reach your goal", and I have lived by this philosophy in life and in music.
