Johnny Peña was born in Laredo, TX in 1989. He has a Master of Music Degree in Guitar Performance from The University of Texas at San Antonio and a Bachelor of Music Degree in Guitar Performance from Texas A & M International University.  Johnny enjoys teaching and is a dedicated teacher at various outreach programs in San Antonio. Currently, he is the professor of music theory and classical guitar at the Baptist University of the Americas.

Throughout his career in music he has had the opportunity to work with children and adults of all ages. His main goal for students is to create a solid musical foundation that will last a lifetime. He also hopes to inspire students in expressing their creative minds.

Johnny enjoys playing solo guitar music whenever possible and competes in various classical guitar competitions in the United States. Recently, he was awarded 4th place in the 2nd Annual Mountain View College Festival and he was a semi-finalist in the 11th, 14th, and 15th Annual Texas Guitar Competition and Festival in Dallas, Texas. When Johnny is not working on solo guitar music or teaching, he enjoys playing violin and guitar duos with his wife, Jenny Peña.
